Young Men Becoming Men, Inc. equips young men in grades 6–12 with trauma-informed leadership, resilience, and mentorship through the G.O.A.T. Leadership Program.
Young Men Becoming Men, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping young men with the tools to lead through adversity. Through mentorship, trauma-informed curricula, and school partnerships, we transform how young men see themselves and their futures.
Founded by Robert Cooper Jr., our organization operates the G.O.A.T. Leadership Program—Greatness Over Adversity & Trauma—a comprehensive framework that builds resilience, emotional intelligence, and peer accountability in grades 6–12.
A 3-week, 86-slide trauma-informed curriculum for grades 6–12, delivered through athletic programs and school partnerships.
Robert’s approach goes far beyond mentorship. He is transforming how schools and communities engage these young men by fostering trust, identity, and resilience. His trauma-informed programs are thoughtfully designed to tackle root causes and engage families and educators in meaningful, lasting change.
Coach Cooper was a constant presence and leader for our boys basketball team. He helped to bridge the gap between life and basketball, allowing our athletes to see the life skills they will take from the game.
I highly recommend Robert Thomas Cooper Jr. for his dynamic and thought-provoking communication style. His ability to connect with audiences—especially youth—is both inspiring and transformative. He encourages young minds to explore leadership at an early stage.
You’ve helped me manage my emotions better and helped me realize that true resilience is when you maintain your character regardless of the results. You check in on me, not just about basketball but about life too.
Hear directly from students, parents, and school partners about the transformation they’ve experienced.
